round twelve results: red light, green light

An interesting turn of events:

#24 chooses to standby. This puts 24 first in line for a reserved slot should the ones who came before be eliminated.

#41 will compete for the full-tique! Woo-hoo!

Congratulations 27,40, and 44!  You may proceed to page 8 for Bonus Play. OR STOP here and standby to win a reserved slot if others who came before you go down. If more than one of you chooses to standby, Snoop will be forced to do a page-off for the remaining standby slot. What will it be?

An important message from SNOOP: I'm starting to get bored with some of the entries that are in the lead. This is a warning. Do not be surprised if one of your manuscripts becomes my breakfast.  Check your pages for extra lettuce and hay. I want to feel like I'm eating papaya when I read your book, not hay. I can get hay anywhere (even from Cynthea). Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter. —The Snooper.

Now back to business.

New entries:

71-73

MG-48*, MG-66 – proceed to page 4

If you don't see your number here, let me know.

Good luck, everyone!

  1. Hi there! I’m #27 and I’d like to ask a question for clarification, if that’s okay. From what I understand, I have two options. One, I could continue on and hope that by July 18th, my novel is one of the two that are farthest along. Two, I can stop here and go on standby. But what would I be standing by for?

    Thank you!

  2. If you stand by, you are hoping #5 and #18 get eliminated (since they
were the first to cross the finish line and hold the reserved slots
    provided they don’t get eliminated).

#24 is hoping no one else stands by (because there is one slot that will become free at the end of the race for sure. There is also possibility #5 or #18 will both be eliminated and if that happens, two slots open up for stand bys. And #24 and your number will get the reserved slots. (provided no one
else in your round also wants to stand-by).

If that happens (40 or 44 also want to stand-by), you have to compete with those stand-bys for the reserved slots that come open at the end of the race.

And if we really wanted to go crazy, we could continue to let standbys build up and just have a massive page-off for any standbys at the end of the race. Would be interesting for some people to see how far they can get, I think.

Anyhow, please confirm what you want to do. Go for the Full-Tique
(which would really be all or nothing i) OR standby (with the possibility of a page-off with other standbys).

  3. Hi Cynthea: I know Snoop won’t tell us what he did or didn’t like with the stories that had to go back to start while the contest is going on, but afterwards, will he tell us what happened? why he didn’t like it? etc, etc, etc…

If he will, will you be letting us know when we can submit the question “Why?”

    Thanks

  4. Yes, absolutely. Snoop will tell all entrants why if the entrants would like to know. Though keep in mind, these answers will be fairly short since there have been SO MANY entrants and it may take a while to get responses back. Snoop hopes the answers will be at least one step-up from a personal rejection so you’ll have some decent idea of why he ultimately turned it down. And all entrants will remember, responses only reflect one bunny’s opinion.

Edited to add: Snoop will let you know when he will be able to take the “whys?”. By posting to this website. And Blue Board.

  5. Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I think I’ve got it now. I’m going to go on standby (#27). 🙂
