You know who you want to send your manuscript to based on some genuinely good sleuthing (read step five – find an agent or step six – find an editor). Now get ready to talk submission guidelines, envelopes, postage, and paper. Try not to yawn your way through this.
You’re going to need to know how to do the following to get your submission out correctly and in a professional manner
- Read post, write queries, cover letters, synopses, outlines, author bios, and more (the writing’s not over yet).
- Read post, how to interpret kludgy submission guidelines
- Read post, how to package a submission in a way that doesn’t drive editors or agents bonkers
Move on to step eight – pray.
